Meet Marina Ramos, our "nanay", the Barangay Nutrition Scholar of Barangay Silangan.

We admire our Nanay's efforts and passion to serve the community because at her old age, she still managed to deliver the feeding program ration everyday, three times a day. She walks around the puroks, carrying the portioned meals and delivers it to the underweight and wasted children of the barangay in order to improve their nutrition status.

In the photo above, the jolliest and smiling face you'll see is Nanay Marina. There is no hint of tiredness on her face even if works under the sun everyday. She is also in charge in the Operation Timbang which happens every month and we learned that she does not know how to encode it in the excel BNS tool, that's why she does it manually and pays for the document typing out of her own pocket. Our group trained her on how to use the BNS tool so that she won't need to pay for the service anymore knowing that her monthly salary is just 2000php.

We went with her in delivering the food stuff and did a short nutrition education to the parents and guardians of the children so that they will also experience mental feeding through our short informative discussion and simple flyers.
